Healthy Hair Treatment

The reset your hair has been asking for.

Duration 1.5–2.5 hours
Healthy Hair Treatment at JEX Salon, Austin TX

Healthy hair isn’t a look. It’s a condition. And it’s one that most styling services make assumptions about without ever actually assessing.

Before LaKeisha touches your hair with color, heat, or extensions, she wants to know what she’s working with. The Healthy Hair Treatment is, for many clients, the appointment that should come first — the one that establishes a baseline, identifies what’s present and what’s missing, and puts together a plan.

The treatment itself is customised. There’s no single formula. Protein-heavy treatments can make over-moisturised hair worse. Moisture-heavy treatments won’t address structural damage. LaKeisha assesses your hair’s current protein-moisture balance and chooses the approach based on what she finds — not what you came in requesting.

For clients recovering from a bad color experience, prolonged heat damage, or years of neglect, the Healthy Hair Treatment is the first chapter of a longer story. For clients whose hair is in good shape and want to keep it that way, it’s a maintenance ritual worth building into the calendar.

Questions

About Healthy Hair Treatment.

How do I know if I need a Healthy Hair Treatment?

Signs that your hair could benefit include excessive shedding or breakage, a rough or straw-like texture, hair that doesn't hold moisture, visible split ends above the mid-shaft, or hair that feels weak after washing. If you're unsure, book a consultation and LaKeisha will assess.

What is the difference between a protein treatment and a moisture treatment?

Both restore balance to the hair, but they address different deficiencies. Protein treatments strengthen the hair shaft and address breakage caused by structural damage. Moisture treatments restore hydration and elasticity. Many clients need both — but in the right sequence. LaKeisha assesses which your hair needs before choosing an approach.

How many treatments will I need?

Depends on the current condition of your hair. Some clients see significant improvement after a single session; others in an active repair phase benefit from a series of 3–4 appointments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. LaKeisha will give you an honest assessment and a realistic timeline.

Can I get a Healthy Hair Treatment before a color or silk press service?

Yes — and for many clients, it's recommended. Strengthening the hair before a color or heat service reduces the risk of damage and improves the result. LaKeisha can schedule services in the right sequence.

After your appointment

How to make it last.

  • Avoid all heat styling for 3–5 days after the treatment
  • Incorporate a weekly deep conditioning session at home
  • Follow the product routine recommended by LaKeisha at your appointment
  • Return every 4–6 weeks during an active repair phase; every 8–12 weeks for maintenance
